Reunited :)

Soooo. I went back to Melaka for a week to stay with Evon! I went to Melaka to celebrate my grandmother's 81st birthday (my mother's side is from Melaka haha). So I managed to sort of convince my dad to let me stay with Evon for a week xD

Her cake was so delicious haha it was half chocolate, and half green tea with sesame and hazelnut. And it was SO pretty!!

Anyway. So, Evon and I soon started to get weird. (Go figure XD)

We attended her friend's 21st birthday party. Theme: Pink hello kitty (in case you didn't notice :P) Afterwards, we went out for some beer with a few of her seniors and just talked and chilled haha

She had a midterm on Monday, so after that, we went out with a bunch of her friends to dinner, and then to Starbucks (they had an offer that day) :D We just sat there and talked and chilled :P

It was my 20th birthday on Tuesday, so on Monday night at Starbucks, we bought two cakes home: red velvet and salted caramel butterscotch cheesecake (the second one was AMAZING) and she sung for me at midnight, and we watched 'Supergirl' and ate the cakes and had wine. She was super proud when we finally opened that bottle of wine haha!

The next day, we went to A Famosa for the water theme park. Unfortunately, it was closed on Tuesdays! So we went for this package deal thing, where for 25RM, we get to play archery, paintball and go-kart. It was actually quite fun! :P I mean, I was disappointed about the water theme park, but we had fun in the end. There was an area there where they had adorable decorations out in a field, so of course, we took a bunch of pictures and stupid videos :P

That night, Evon and her friends (Helena and Kit) took me out for dinner at Kensington. It was nice :D

They got me a delicious cake, and sung for me :)

Then after that, we went to have some shaved ice desserts hehe (Left: mango, right: mixed fruit with yogurt)

On Thursday, Megan took us to the Huskitory - a cafe with adorable huskies!!

We both took turns using the fluffy dog as a pillow XD

Umm.. We got really hungry one night and ordered pizza :P With chicken wings and chicken strips and cinnamon rolls. They were delicious! This box is actually meant for 4 people but we.. ate it all. :)

Cendol <3

Assam laksa <3

So on Friday, we went to Jonker street for food :D and a little shopping! Evon bought that adorable mint green tube top (and a few dresses ;) ) and I bought that blue and white striped dress (you can't really tell in this picture haha)

We also DIY-ed our own tank tops! The one on the left is the back, and the one on the right is the front :) We're both super proud of it!

Anyway. No matter how long I stay with Evon, it never seems enough! I always wish I could stay for a little longer... I guess that's what you get when you have a best friend who lives in a different country! To be honest, I'm pretty amazed at our friendship. We have only really been in the same country in the first two years of our friendship. Then she moved back to Malaysia. But luckily for us, my dad's hometown is the same city that she lives in, so whenever I went back for holidays, I was able to meet up with her! It's fair to say that our friendship has been through a lot, through the good times and the bad times, and no matter what has happened, we always got through them. I believe that our friendship will last :) Despite our jokes and teasing towards one another, we were always the pillars of support for each other. We would always bring the best out of each other. I mean, we would always try to convince each other to do stupid things :P But we also try to convince each other to do the things that scare us, but at the same time, benefit us.

To those who have a true friend in their lives - keep them close to your hearts. It is difficult to find a friend who is sincere to you. Even if your friend is living down the street from you, or in another country like Evon and I, distance is not a problem if both are true friends to each other :)

I am the most lucky girl on earth because I managed to find you over the billions of people.

Last Day In Melaka

Yesterday was my last day in Melaka T T it was sad.. I really wish I could have stayed longer! It was so much fun going around Melaka and meeting Evon's friends, and of course, the yummy food xD I shall definitely return!! :D

To end the day on a sweeter note, I had some frozen yogurt! I had the cookies and cream froyo with rainbow sprinkles and it was absolutely delicious!!

We Could Not Resist The Cakes..

Other than the local cuisine, we also went to this lovely cafe called 'Nadeje'. There, we had tiramisu and cafe mocha thousand layers cake! Simply put: they were super yummy!

The moment we had a bite of these cakes, we closed our eyes in pure pleasure. These cakes were soft. but not crumbly. Each bite bursts with flavour in your mouth, as you slowly chew on these delicious cakes. We found that these two flavours were sweet, but not so sickening sick to the point where you'd want to stop eating. No, we could not put our forks down the moment we had our first bite!

In addition, we also walked around and did a little shopping :D

We found these Hello Kitty glasses, which we really liked. However, we are not big fans of the orange colour :( That was the only thing that prevented us from buying them - they were only 10RM.

Local Delicacies

So, today we had a couple of local delicacies :D We had some 'satay celup', which is...dipping your food (on a stick) into the delicious sauce.

There are a huge variety of choices for you to choose, so you can go for the classic fishballs, or make it fancy by getting some quail eggs and scallops (like we did ;) hehe)

We also ate 'roti pisang', which is banana bread - Malaysian style!

You can dip your 'roti pisang' in the curry that is provided, which only makes it even more delicious.

These local delicacies can be found in street food stalls, which are opened by Indians, AKA 'mamak'. This is a very common Malaysian thing to do, where you and your friends will go to a 'memak', and order some food and drinks. The food and drinks that are ordered are usually consumed within minutes, and you will find yourselves sitting there, just chatting and gossiping about random things. :) And most likely ordering more food and drinks again, maybe even to share! This is a great opportunity to catch up with your friends, and even to bond with them. The foods are cheap and affordable, whilst being delicious. The foods tend to also portray the roots of Malaysia.

Teddy Bear Cafe - Melaka Malaysia

So, a dear friend of ours, Megan, brought us to a special place called TBC, aka: Teddy Bear Cafe.

The nature of this cafe is true to its name. It is decorated with a variety of teddy bears of all sizes. This cafe shop located on the third floor of Hatten Square.

The best part of this cafe is that the you are allowed to play with the teddy bears, and take as many selfies as you want! You are even allowed to bring a teddy bear or two to your table, and have a  new friend accompany you whilst enjoying their food/drinks.

This cafe serves mainly Western food. Whilst they do have a limited menu (especially for their desserts), their food is quite good. They have interesting drinks, which is quite worth its price if you are not planning to go there often. (N.B. do not try their fruit juices with cucumber if you do not like cucumber!)

The lychee soda with blackcurrent cubes and humming bird are nice.

PS. their chocolate fondue is really nice, although it is a bit pricey. But a good choice for all chocoholics!

Even though their food is not as good as their decorations, it is a good cafe to just hang out and chill with your friends. Hint to all guys: this is an excellent choice for you to bring your girlfriend/crush especially if she likes cute, cuddly, squishy stuff! ;)

 Just playing with the bears.
